I absolutely adore when my couples choose places, dates, colors and other meaningful things that are special to them as a couple. Insert: Katie and Kim. This past Spring, I received a phone call from an excited soon-to-be bride. Katie, had heard about me from a fellow attorney that we both are friends with. She told me all about her upcoming wedding in September at the Chicago History Museum and why they had chosen the venue. I heard about the colors, why they had chosen their wedding date and most importantly her love, Kim.
After our phone conversation, I knew I was going to be meeting a very special couple and it would be an honor capturing their wedding. Shortly after talking on the phone, the three of us met up for a lovely coffee date to talk more about the big day. After talking for a short while, they asked me to be their wedding photographer…and well, it was the icing on the cake. While enjoying the delicious coffee and company, I heard all about the romantic proposal at the gazebo in Welles Park. Months prior, Kim had surprised Katie with a beautiful PURPLE stone, gold engagement ring and celebrated with champagne in the gazebo later that night. I have to add Katie, is in love with the color purple and you will have to stay tuned to see if it makes a debut at their wedding:) On their one year proposal anniversary, Katie and Kim will be saying, “I DO” at the fabulous Chicago History Museum, just down the street from where Kim grew up in Old Town, Chicago.
Katie and Kim, thank you…thank you for allowing me to capture this special time in your lives. I can’t wait for your upcoming wedding in a few short weeks + for you two to begin the rest of your lives together. Enjoy some of my favorites from your E-session! Xo, Annie
