They were not in the same grade, but how adorable is it they went to the same grade school with each other… at the same time? They didn’t see much of each other during High School, or College for that matter; but years later were both invited to a Relay for Life event coordinated by Katie’s sister in the Spring of 2010. In a large group of fellow Relay for Lifers; they reconnected over a train ride to and from a downtown Chicago St. Patty’s Day celebration. Shortly after meeting up after all those years, they fell in love with each other.. at the same time.
Having dated for several years, both had grown to love spending time together in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Alan owns land up north, and the two came to enjoy long weekends being outside relaxing and spending time together. On a specific day last May while in Escanaba, the day could not have been more perfect when Alan told Katie how much he loved her and how she makes him a better person. A moment later, he asked her to marry him… and she of course said, Yes.
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting these two wonderful souls in the banana belt of Michigan’s upper peninsula for their Engagement Session. It was meaningful to them to have such special pictures taken in such a special place that has shaped their relationship and the beginning of the rest of their lives together. In the quaint town of Escanaba, Michigan; these two laughed, loved and took some beautiful pictures together. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites and I can’t wait for their Hotel Baker Wedding later this year! XO, Annie
Escanaba, Michigan is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and has a beautiful beach and oh, so lovely lighthouse, too!
The local Bike Shop rental was closed for the day, but the owner made a special trip so that Alan and Katie could bike to some of their favorite spots!
Katie.. you are just stunning!
I’ll end with this one because I love when love looks just like this.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends! XO
