When the warm summer nights of the city seem to cool off, you know Fall is right around the corner. Walking along the lake on a windy day, the cold waves splash the shore just below the Adler Planetarium. Jamie and Michael’s engagement session was the perfect session of the summer slowing down, gorgeous light and a beautiful love.
They met over 5 years ago through mutual friends. They had an instant connection and a friendship evolved almost immediately. Michael’s work involved travel, so a relationship was not in the cards at the time. As they say, what is meant to be will always find a way; 3 years later and not traveling for work anymore, Michael invited Jamie on a lunch date at Garibaldi’s for pizza. That lunch date was the start of being more than just friends, and a short trip later to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico would make it official.
Over the years, every December they made it a tradition to go downtown for a nice dinner and holiday shopping on Michigan Avenue. Last year was the 5th year in a row. One year ago TODAY on December 4, shortly after checking into the hotel along the Magnificent Mile, Jamie opened the door to a decorated room with pictures of the two of them, candles, rose petals and a gorgeous engagement ring. Michael asked Jamie to be his wife, and of course she said, “Yes.” As an added surprise, Jamie’s sisters and cousins were waiting at the restaurant when they arrived to celebrate.
Jamie and Michael will be getting married next August, and I can’t wait to document their special day! For now, enjoy some of my favorites from their loving engagement session! XO
Besides being gorgeous (on the inside and out), they have so much fun together
This type of sunset light is my favorite.
Jamie STUNNER of a rock!
After a quick outfit change, we headed over to the Harbor right by Soldier Field.
I’ll end with this because her hair and a love like this… are simply beautiful.
Happy December and Happy Friday, friends! You can leave some love for the lovely couple below… XO
