An Engagement at Chicago’s Japanese Gardens: Amanda + Keith

It’s a magical time of year in Chicago.  The sun sets over the city earlier, the streets are lined with holiday decor and wreaths, and the cool air reminds us that another year is coming to an end, and the prosperious New Year is right around the corner.  I am talking about December and living in the city is just magic.

Amanda and Keith had been living in the Chicago and dating for several years.  Keith had planned a romantic date to take Amanda to the Kris Kindle Market downtown and dinner at her favorite restaurant afterwards.  Amanda, a life long Chicago resident, had never been to this annual German-American Holiday Market, and was excited to finally experience this venue.  They dressed up, and walked to the outside market, hand in hand–with hot cider.  After a wonderful time walking around the twinkling lights, and even buying an ornament for their Christmas tree, the two walked to dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse.  On the way, they were crossing LaSalle Bridge when Keith stopped.  On this December night, he told her this was one of his favorite spots of the Chicago skyline,  but more importantly how much he loved her.  He started to kneel and Amanda not wanting him to dirty his pants, began to help him up.  With no avail, and on bended knee — Keith pulled out a gorgeous ring and asked her to marry him!  She uttered some words in disbelief and happily said, Yes.  They celebrated the rest of the evening and toasted to their lives together.

Amanda and Keith, I can’t wait to document your continued love story when you get married at the ever gorgeous Blackstone Hotel this coming December.  After almost 9 years together, I know how special this time is for you both, and can’t wait to celebrate your love.  I’m so honored to be a small part of your upcoming day!  I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from your E-session… xo, Annie
