Lauren, from New Jersey, and Greg from Minnesota, had met and fell in love in the great city of Chicago. Earlier this past Spring, Greg brought over dinner to celebrate the weather finally warming up. They went to Lauren’s high-rise rooftop overlooking the city with steaks to grill, cheese to enjoy, and some of their favorite red wine to sip on. Greg said he had forgotten something downstairs in Lauren’s apartment and said he would be right back. Once Greg returned to the rooftop, they walked over to a corner of the rooftop that had a magical view of the city, and he proposed. Lauren was completely surprised, but of course said “Yes.”
After dinner they returned back to Lauren’s apartment. Flowers and champagne that Greg had set up were waiting for them. They toasted to their future together and immediately began calling family and friends. Given the day coincidentally was April 1st (April Fools Day); they decided to share the news the following day so they wouldn’t have to repeatedly tell everyone getting engaged was not a joke.
Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren and Greg at Chicago’s Riverwalk. Next summer, family and friends from all over the country will be traveling to the city where they met and fell in love. I can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding at The Newberry Library in downtown Chicago. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session! XO
Oh you two… simply beautiful.
I just adore these two…

As the sun was setting to the west of the high-rises, we decided to make one more stop at City Winery
