If you know me or follow my blog, then you know how much I adore the city of Chicago. We moved downtown over 2 years ago, and it felt like home even before we started unpacking. These past few weeks have been some of the busiest for me and my business and I could not begin to tell you how grateful I am to be answering emails several times a day and booking 2013 weddings for next year.
This past weekend, we headed to the great state of Michigan for some much needed rest and relaxation. Two of our great friends joined us as we spent a long weekend enjoying life at a much slower pace. We traveled to quaint towns exploring fabulous brunch and the best food and drink pure Michigan has to offer. A short drive outside Chicago offers a unique place to visit, explore, and come home completely relaxed ready to start the upcoming weeks very busy photography season and upcoming travel.
This leads us to another installment of Life in Instagram…
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET MARRIED HERE AND HAVE ME PHOTOGRAPH THIS GLORIOUS EVENT? This past April, Peter and I took a trip out to San Francisco, CA. It is a lovely city and offers everything from wine country to Alcatraz Island, to great shopping to rich history of cable cars. Expensive it is, bit a definite place to visit. However, this past weekend to Michigan, we discovered about an hour and a half outside of Chicago, there is WINE COUNTRY in the midwest. Rolling hills of vineyards, picturesque trees, family wineries that offer good ol’ fashion hospitality GALORE. If you are looking for an amazing place to get married, with a destination wedding feel…look no further than a vineyard in Michigan! I didn’t see any weddings while we were there, but I can imagine it’s much more affordable than Chicago and who doesn’t want to be invited to a wedding in a vineyard only a short drive away.
THE ANNIE STEELE PHOTOGRAPHY WEDDING PACKAGE HAS ARRIVED Years ago, when I knew I wanted to pursue photography as a business, my immediate thought was what my packaging and brand would look like. I dreamt of pretty colors, swirly borders and creative fonts. After a talented graphic designer designed my logo, I was able to expand and create stationary and other products that represent my brand and vision. I want my clients to feel as if they are opening a present and not just receiving their images. To learn more about 2013 wedding packages, click here and please email for details:)
LIPSTICK + MASCARA = DATE NIGHT. My husband is possibly the most calm and well put together person I know. He motivates me to pursue my dreams, and yet at the same time, reassures me life is so much more simple when I sometimes dramatically make it out to be just the opposite. This particular night, he insisted I walk away from email and editing because we were going on a date. A middle of the week date night where I couldn’t talk shop, but just be happy with life…and each other. We went to a rooftop for dinner in Lincoln Park and just loved life that night. Oh, and it’s considered date night when mascara and lip stick is involved.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CITY PUP Ellie is our lovable 5 year old cocker spaniel. She loves city walks and we are partially embarrassed by the fact she genuinely believes she’s half human. This particular Saturday morning, we walked the lakefront and then headed west to Michigan Avenue. Here she is resting on the half wall outside the the Chicago Art Museum. She enjoys staring down the lion statues weekly.
Have a wonderful day and if you haven’t already, we would love for you to friend us on Facebook!
