One of the wonderful things about photographing a wedding is getting to meet wonderful people. A few years back, I photographed Nicole and Danny’s beautiful day and met and got to know some of their best friends. Katie, who was and still is such a sweetheart, told me she would love for me to photograph her wedding one day. Though she was not engaged at the time, I knew it wouldn’t be long before her and her longtime love, Vince, would be planning a wedding.
Katie and Vince were set up on a blind date through mutual friends a little over 8 years ago. Shortly after dating, they found out they had met before as young kids as his mom and her aunt were friends. After being set up, friendship turned to love, and that love turned into the forever kind.
Last January evening while playing Monopoly at the kitchen table with friends, Katie had just scored Park Place. She stepped away for a few minutes to put their two sweet boys down to bed, and when she returned, she noticed her property was oddly elevated. She lifted the card up, and saw a small wooden box. Tears filled her eyes as she saw Vince on one knee. That night, Vince asked Katie to marry him, and of course she said “Yes.”
Next year, these two will be getting married at Chevy Chase Country Club. They are planning their dream wedding, and I couldn’t be more honored to document this beautiful, beautiful love. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their recent engagement session at Montrose Harbor. XO
Besides Katie being one of the nicest people I have ever met, she has an infectious laugh that makes anyone around smile.
Oh, and she is stunning as well. Special thanks to Lauren Guillen for Katie’s beautiful makeup and Stephanie Goggin for her hair stylist!
Who knew a boat parking lot could look so good? <3
Vince is a natural as well;)
I could document this sweet love all day long…
Have a wonderful Tuesday, friends!
