It is very humbling to look back at all these beautiful weddings full of so much planning, investment, millions of details and love; and to know we captured it all.  I say it often because I mean it whole heartedly, but today I am going to say it again.  I am beyond blessed to be able to live out a love and dream of capturing weddings for beautiful people like you.

This past year our wedding season began in May and it was a gorgeous, Spring day for Tina and Daniel.  17 Weddings later, our hearts were more filled with love than ever wrapping up a white, winter wedding at Hoosier Grove Barn for Jaclyn and Scott’s wedding.

We photographed in ballrooms, in vineyards, small courthouses in St. Charles, in the snow, on beaches, and beautiful Churches in downtown Chicago this year because of our fabulous clients.  I hope you enjoy The Best of Weddings, 2016 edition!

It all began at work and a friendship quickly blossomed.  Besides having a great friendship from early on, they soon realized how many commonalities they shared.  They enjoyed the same weekend activities, they both love the outdoors and being active, and when these two were together, life made sense.

After working with each other for a couple months, Jaclyn accepted a job offer for a different company.  Since they wouldn’t see each other everyday anymore, Scott decided to take a chance and ask her out.  They went on their first date, Scott insists he knew he was going to marry after that, and the rest is history.
Last November, Scott proposed to Jaclyn and between all the happy tears, she said, YES!  They decided a rustic, winter wedding was exactly how they wanted to say, “I Do” and celebrate with all of their family and close friends! We are so excited to be photographing their upcoming wedding and could not be more excited for this next chapter in their lives.  I hope you enjoy some of my favorites…
These two lovebirds live right next to Busse Woods, and I was so excited to begin their engagement session in their beautiful backyard!
Besides being just as beautiful on the inside as out; Jaclyn has the most stunning eyes…
Their love of their Jeep Wrangler HAD to be included

Oh, how I just adore this…
XOXO

Have a great weekend, friends and leave some love below for these lovelies who are about to get MARRIED!!  XO

It all began in Chicago and their story is no different than every other classic love story… it began with tacos and margaritas.  From the moment Brent first locked eyes with Angie and saw her infections smile, he knew he had found the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his days with.  After that first meeting, Angie was working crazy hours most days and it wasn’t until almost 2 months later, they would go on a first date.

The weather was starting to turn in Chicago and Brent thought it was the perfect opportunity for a fall picnic along Lake Michigan.  In his true, romantic fashion, he packed his jeep with blankets, some candles, made a playlist, got a bunch of bbq from lilly Q and threw a couple bottles of wine in a cooler.  The two laughed and talked, and cuddled as the sun set until two officers rode up on bikes asking them to leave the park that late night.
Their friendship and love grew and grew for one another over the course of the next year.  In a turn of events, Angie was in a bad car accident the following summer and something tragic turned into a defining moment in their relationship.  Instead of enjoying Chicago’s summer on the lakefront and on patios, they spent time together in and out of doctor offices, and on the couch.  It was days and nights of seeing each other at their best and worst, tears, happiness, unconditional love, pain, and gratefulness that they began to see what two becoming ONE looked like.
The following year, Brent and Angie decided to move, put roots down, and begin their business is Louisville, KY.  Together they planned a big, going away party to celebrate with friends and family and the night before, Brent asked Angie to be his wife.  She of course said, “Yes.”
I was honored when I was introduced to Angie from one of our favorite planners at The Pink Shell Beach and in the small world we live in– past couples that she knew I had photographed in the Chicagoland area.  These two planned a beautiful celebration of love, and it was nothing short of a stunning celebration along the ocean.   The absolute unconditional love these two share for one another is inspiring to say the least, and friends and family who have the pleasure of knowing them, are the lucky ones.  I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from Angie and Brent’s Wedding Day…

This season has been one of our busiest we have ever photographed!  As we get back to blogging to show you all the beautiful weddings we have had the pleasure of photographing; I will begin with this fun loving, Summer Wedding at the Onion Pub in Barrington, IL.  Emily and Adam’s day was gorgeous from the loving moment of seeing each other before the ceremony, to the end of the night celebrating in the grand ballroom.

From the very start, they both knew it was something special.  Emily insists she is always shy when first meeting anyone, but it was different with Adam.  Within minutes of meeting for the first time, Adam had Emily smiling and laughing as if she had known him forever.  From an early on ice cream date that turned into talking at a picnic table well after the lights went off, they knew this love was the forever kind.  It was such an honor to be among family and friend’s as they said, ” I do” outside in the warm Summer sun.

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites of Emily and Adam’s wedding day…

After some pictures (and kissing); we arrived at The Onion Pub to see Emily and Adam make it official!

Special, handwritten vows and a surprise finger print in Adam’s Wedding ring by the beautiful Bride made this ceremony even that more special!

She sweetly explains it was not a grand gesture of how they met, but I tend to disagree.  I truly think every story of how every couple met, is the best love story ever told.  Samantha and Mark met at a Memorial Day Barbecue at one of his friend’s home.  Not really knowing anyone who would be there, she was reluctant to go; but one of her good friends insisted.  Later in the night, the two started talking, exchanged numbers; and went on their first date a few days later.

Mark’s initial plan to propose was over a surprise trip to Nashville that he had planned for Samantha’s birthday.  But, he did not get the ring in time from the jeweler, so they went to Nashville and Samantha thought it was an amazing gift!  About a month later, and after Samantha returned from a business trip, Mark had a surprise waiting when she walked in the door.   He had made a book filled with memories and photos of the adventures they had gone on over the years. After going through all the pages, she turned around and he was on one knee asking her to marry him.  She said “yes” of course.

For this wonderful couple’s Engagement Session, we met at RM Champagne Salon in the West Loop.  So in love and ending with bubbly is my favorite kind of engagement session.  I hope you enjoy some of my favorites! XO

These two!

And this RING!

Samantha looking lovely as ever!

West Loop in Chicago is know for amazing restaurants and perfectly crafted cocktails.  Besides the food, the character of the neighborhood is pretty spectacular!

I will end with this because I just adore these two, their love, and this Champagne Salon’s back patio!

When they were introduced several years back, Summer remembers a visible spark.  Granted it was a celebratory day full of spirits and cocktails, while she celebrated her 21st Birthday.  Shortly after and excited to go on their first date, she was skeptically hopeful the same connection would be there.  After a first, second and a third date of easy conversation, so much in common, and Joe keeping a smile on Summer’s face; she introduced him to her family as her boyfriend at a family wedding.  Romantic dinners in the city, laid back dates at home, and friendship that led to love is the story they get to tell for generations to come.

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful pair at Burnham Harbor in Chicago!  The summer evening had magical light, and their love shines bright through all of it.  I am so excited to capture their Wedding next month, and I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement session!

Summer has the most beautiful, and contagious laugh!

Oh, and when I grow up… I want Summer’s hair.

Magical love and light!

I may be biased, but I adore 3 stone engagement rings <3

We decided to end their session, at Burnham Harbor…

I will end with this picture because I think it sums their love up perfect!
